Hoffman i Kaszuba w 17. RallyLegend – czyli Saab 96 w San Marino
Pierwsza połowa października to święto dla kierowców rajdowych z całego świata. W weekend od 11 do 13 października 2019 roku, na terenie Republiki San Marino odbyły się rajdowe zmagania kierowców z różnych epok i w przeróżnych samochodach sportowych. Jechały tam pojazdy od lat sześćdziesiątych do najbardziej współczesnych. Na rajd zgłosiło się około 170 załóg, w tym pięć z Polski, głównie z części południowej. Do igrzysk przystąpiły trzy polskie zespoły; Janka Chmielewskiego, Grzegorza Olchawskiego i Pawła Hoffmana. Wszyscy dzielnie rywalizowali. Niestety Jankowi awarii uległa skrzynia biegów, a Grzegorz w Audi S1 uszkodził elementy przedniego zawieszenia.
Okazało się, że jedyną polską załogą, która ukończyła rajd to Paweł Hoffman i Jakub Kaszuba startujący Saabem 96 V4 Rally.
Paweł Hoffman: Startowaliśmy w klasie Heritage, gdzie znalazły się oryginalne pojazdy rajdowe, lub dawni kierowcy. Jechaliśmy według schematu na regularność, co przyniosło nam sporo trudności, ponieważ nie mam w tym doświadczenia. Jechaliśmy w tempie średniej prędkości 50km /h, jednak nasza fantazja zwyciężała czasem i trochę szarżowaliśmy. Przed rajdem ustaliliśmy, w których miejscach damy wyraz naszym fantazjom i pojedziemy dla kibiców. Jeden taki przejazd na sobotnim szutrze okupiliśmy uderzeniem w drzewo i zbiciem halogenów. No ale, cóż… wszystko dla kibiców 🙂 .
Jakub Kaszuba: Pierwszy raz byłem na takim rajdzie. Jestem zachwycony organizacją, przejazdami przez zamki w San Marino i pięknymi widokami.
Ja i Paweł nie mamy doświadczenia w regularności, jednak na jednym odcinku uzyskaliśmy nawet piąte miejsce, a rajd zakończyliśmy na dziewiątej pozycji. Cieszę się, że ukończyliśmy zmagania, chociaż po uderzeniu w drzewo nie byliśmy pewni czy dojedziemy. Straciliśmy biegi; dwójkę i czwórkę. Wieczorem mechanicy usunęli usterkę i w niedzielę mogliśmy nadal jechać z uśmiechami na twarzach

The first half of October is a holiday for rally drivers from around the world. On the weekend of October 11-13, 2019, rally of drivers from various eras and in various sports cars took place in San Marino. There were vehicles from the sixties to the most modern. About 170 crews entered the rally, including five from Poland, mainly from the southern part of Poland. Three Polish teams joined the Games; Janek Chmielewski, Grzegorz Olchawski and Paweł Hoffman. Everyone competed bravely. Unfortunately, Janek failed the gearbox, and Grzegorz in the Audi S1 damaged elements of the front suspension.
It turned out that the only Polish crew who completed the rally were Paweł Hoffman and Jakub Kaszuba starting with the Saab 96 V4 Rally.
Paweł Hoffman said “We started in the Heritage class, where there were original rally vehicles or former drivers. We drove according to the pattern to regularity, which brought us a lot of difficulties, because I have no experience in it. We were traveling at an average speed of 50km / h, but our fantasy sometimes won and we charged a little. Before the rally we determined in which places we would express our fantasies and we will go for our fans. We paid one such ride on Saturday’s gravel by hitting the tree and broke the halogens. .JWell, well … everything for fans “
Jakub Kaszuba said” I was on such a rally for the first time. I am delighted with the organization, rides through the castles of San Marino and the beautiful views.
Me and Paweł do not have experience in regularity, but in one episode we even achieved fifth place, and we finished the rally in ninth position. I am glad that we finished the struggle, although after hitting the tree we were not sure if we would finish the rally. We lost our gearbox; two and four. In the evening the mechanics removed the fault and on Sunday we could still go with smiles on our faces”.
